It’s here! Fiesta begins today at 5pm. Barrelhouse Rockers start rockin’ the house at 6pm.

Cake Walk: Know what it takes, before you bake…

Each family is required to bake one (1) cake per child
All cakes must be delivered to the Lower Lunch Room and signed in at the following delivery dates & times:
- Friday, May 15^th, 2009
  - AM Drop off – from 7:30 am – 8:30 am
  - PM Drop off – from 11:45 am – 12:30 pm
- Saturday, May 16, 2009
  - 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm
- Sunday, May 17, 2009
  - After 9:00 am mass until 2:00 pm
Homemade cakes are preferred
No refrigerated cakes will be accepted
Please package your cake in a sturdy, disposable container
Classes with 100% participation receive a “free dress” day
If you do not turn in a cake – there will be a fine of $100 – that’s not very sweet
Roll up your sleeves, have fun and start baking
Come and visit us at the cake walk during FIESTA

Your Fiesta Checklist

We’re in the home stretch. FIVE DAYS UNTIL FIESTA!

Below is a quick checklist of things you should do this week to prepare for the big weekend:

Submit underwriting orders to sponsor a booth or ride at Fiesta. Earn 100% family credit. Click here for details.
Purchase Fiesta tickets. Buy ride tickets for the discounted, pre-sale price of $12/sheet (the tickets will cost $20/sheet during Fiesta). Earn 25% family credit by purchasing your food and game tickets now. You can buy tickets before and after school this week until they run out.
Bake your cake(s). Don’t forget to bake your cake(s) for the Cake Walk. Each family needs to bring in one cake per child. Participation is mandatory or you will be fined $100 per missed cake. Yikes! For additional details and drop off dates/times, click here.
Drop off Country Store donations. Clear out your unwanted items and recycle them by donating them to Country Store. The more we have to sell at Fiesta, the more money we will raise for the school. Drop offs this week are Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00pm -5:30pm in the back of the school parking lot.
Show Fiesta spirit. Wear you Fiesta t-shirt with pride this week. Students may wear their shirt on Tuesday and again on Fiesta Friday.

Breaking News at Fiesta HQ! Ride tickets which are normally sold at an already-discounted price of $15/sheet are now being sold for the low, low price of $12/sheet. But, this is for pre-sale tickets only, which are being sold before and after school while supplies last. THE RIDES THIS YEAR ARE FANTASTIC. Check back later today for an announcement of this year’s thrilling rides.

In addition to Ride tickets, you can also purchase Food and Game tickets over the the next two days and receive 25% family credit (for food and game tickets only).

Last-Minute Way to Earn Family Credit

If you’re like a lot of St Edward families out there, you still have some credit to earn before the year is over. Well, you’re in luck. FIESTA offers multiple opportunities for earning that final school credit to get you to your $850 goal:

Underwriting (100% Family Credit) – Sponsor a food or game booth or ride at FIESTA. Advertise your business or send a personal message. $400 for a full-booth, $200 for a half-booth and $100 for a quarter-booth. Company logos added for an additional $45. 8th Grade Graduation Wall of Honor (100% Family Credit) – $100 will buy your graduate a sign with their name on it to be displayed on the 8th Grade Graduation Wall of Honor. FIESTA Food and Game Tickets (25% Family Credit) – Purchase Fiesta game and ride tickets ahead of time this Thursday and Friday before school (5/7-8). But, hurry! Supplies are limited. Youth Size T-Shirts Sold Out. Adult Med – XXL Remain.

Well, we’re not sure whether it was the fabulous t-shirt design, the fact that the shirts were printed on O’Neill t-shirts, the permission to wear a Fiesta shirt to school on Tuesdays and the Friday before Fiesta, or the $12 price point, or a combination of all of those reasons, but the Youth Size Fiesta shirts have SOLD OUT! We apologize to anyone who was unable to purchase one. But, if you wear an Adult Med, Lg, XL, or XXL, you are in luck because we still have those sizes available.

You can buy the Adult Size shirts on Mondays and Fridays after school only (note the change in sales hours).

Sweatshirts will be distributed on Monday, May 4th after school.

19 Days Until Fiesta…And Miles Away From Your Family Fundraising Requirement

After reading the current fundraising statement, are you scratching your head about how you’re going to make up the difference? Underwriting is one really great way to earn 100% fundraising credit. (For a full list of ways to earn family credit at Fiesta, please click here.)

Here’s how it works – you to purchase a customized sign to advertise your business or to send a special message to a student or a class. The sign will be displayed the entire Fiesta weekend – either on a food or game booth or at the entrance of a ride. In addition to receiving visibility at Fiesta, your name or company name will be publicized in the church and school bulletins which together reaches over 6,000 families.

The following sponsorship levels are available:

$100 1/4 Booth Sponsorship

$200 ½ Booth Sponsorship

$400 Full Booth Sponsorship

If you have an 8th Grader…

We invite you to make a donation of $100 in honor of your soon-to-be graduate and earn them a place on 8th Grade Graduation Wall of Honor! If you choose to be a sponsor, your sign will be displayed throughout the Fiesta weekend with all the other 8th Grade families. You know your child will want to spend the entire weekend at the Fiesta particularly since this will be his/her last year at the school. Wouldn’t it be fun for the eighth graders to see their names highlighted on the Graduation Wall of Honor with all of their classmates? What better way to honor your 8th grader while receiving the added bonus of earning 100% fundraising credit!

If you are interested in participating in this special opportunity, sponsorship donation forms can be found in the school office (look in the cupboard to the right of the front counter, files are labeled Fiesta Sponsorship/8th Grade Wall of Honor).

All Underwriting and sponsorship forms are due in the Fiesta Underwriting Box located on the counter in the school office by Monday, May 4th.
